July 9 musings...Octomom is back...on the Today Show yesterday, with 8 of her 14 babes, she promoted her new boxing and fitness training career and her written "all by myself" book in progress. With a tab of $15,000.00 a month to fill the chlldren's needs as motivation, she flew overnight with 8 kids - they had two hours sleep before the show and created havoc (running in all directions and much crying when asked to stop) for Today Show host, Ann Curry, camera people and backstage crew. I don't know when she finds the time, however, she says she's a "MOM" not an "Octomom." Well, she could have done away with some of her children if she was so inclined and felt unfulfilled...maybe she is a 'Mom" of sorts..No...I still have a problem..she'll always be the selfish, foolish, give-me-a-handout "Octomom" to me. There's no public pressure until it's time for promotions, media can be screened and appearances can be planned for "time-outs" for Susan. If new Boyle manager, Ossie Kilkenny, charges-in to save the day there's little chance of a Boyle career massacre. As a devoted fan, I hope recording sales in millions give Susan the unconditional love her sensitive emotions demand. Today's weird stuff...Octo-Mom marketing her birthing pictures - asking seven figures - Hillary talking to frustrated women about instant love for Bill on Turkish TV, falsely endowed, Pam Anderson dropped her exaggerated breasts at Fashion Week, an escaped criminal - obviously a realist - sneaking back into jail - and aside from that - Ya' gotta' laugh...
...I'm in a numerology #3 "from the ridicules to the absurd and gotta' laugh" Personal Day...Aside from the impossible happening - above the fold, news of the deepening, seemingly bottomless recession, there's egocentric, druggie-screamer, Rush Limbaugh - ratings failing - preaching to stay afloat - assuming leadership of the Republicans while waiting to see Obama fail - see the country fail...predicting the imminent death of Ted Kennedy...so, Mrs. Lincoln???

A Numeologist's Analysis of Personal Chaos
There's #7 Universal Day news to ponder...On the back to simplicity topic...the rage in Italy is miniature cupcakes...libraries, meatloaf and spaghetti-and-meat-balls make a comeback. The weather? 'Cause Phil, the Groundhog, predicted it - and he's a tried and true "predictor"...it's gonna' be another six weeks of cold weather and probably a colder stock market. However, The National Academy of Sciences is investigating Alzheimer's as brain type diabetes - hormone insulin could protect against damage to brain cells - the key to memory - and offer Alzheimer's patients disease-modifying treatments. That's the good news.
Once again, I am reminded that my #6 Personal Day stresses emotions if I don't focus on home. I awoke at 5 AM...It's 6:27 AM and the dog has thrown up in the office, on her four inch think...very furry...real lamb skin bed - my coffee spilled all over an upholstered chair, the carpet and me...when I tripped on the bouncing, vibrating dog hovering around my feet. The dog is haywire 'cause I am not keeping our morning routine, The computer is meandering as I try to work fast. Plans to leave the office at 9 AM to cover a political rally and my quick-stepping made the dog nervous and we all know, "haste makes waste" --- I will never get to cover my story as a timely or calm reporter...
....'gotta shower, dress-nice, remember the camera and stay calm so my drama-queen-dog doesn't get mad at me...and, when I'm gone leave a "disapproving-dump" where I can easily step in it when I get back...It's my #6 "family responsibilities and a stay-at-home focus" Personal Day......I said yesterday, in my #5 Challenged Personal Day, "I never learn." The lesson: Ya' gotta' follow the numbers or chaos reins!

A Numerologist's Self-Analysis of "Oops"
Oops...close but no cigar! The Arizona Cardinals had me gleefully, dropping my martini glass for refills, screaming, "yes, yes, yes" until instantly, some "he who shall remain nameless to me" Pittsburgh Steeler, caught the ball: A Cards win "went south." In mini-seconds, due to a miracle catch, after I accurately predicted a surprising, exciting game my prediction of an Arizona-Southwestern Cardinals "first"- a Super Bowl win - went northeast.
I saw the seconds ticking away with the Cards leading for an upset - and then - the amazing Steeler defense put my yesterday's prediction of a Cardinals win - to a partial success. Today, sober and back to reality I wonder "what ever made me blast predictions all over the Blogging networks? Aha...there's my usual excuse for indiscretions and mishaps, "The devil made me do it."
Same numbers are attracted to themselves! Yesterday's #5 "expect the unexpected" Universal Day strange things happened. Our swimming American hero, Phelps, admitted to "doing pot"...the Pope continued to defend his Bishops who deny the Holocaust , supposedly sane mothers are reported hosting chickenpox parties - children's play dates with a germ - and it was confirmed that doctors in a fertility clinic put eight eggs into a penniless, single mother of six and nursed her through to delivery of a litter of eight --- the unusual was news - so, my #5 Destiny should have attracted a Cardinals win...
...my psychic-whoopee sports prediction wasn't unique...experienced sports journalists, Gregg Doyel and Pete Prisco predicted the Cards were a "21st Century, flashy, fun" and gonna' win team. However, in the future, since sports predicting is not my bailiwick, I'm gonna' practice what I preach and stick to my area of expertise because, predictably human and only right, according to feedback, 98% in thirty-nine years...
...with my #5 Challenge to my #5 Destiny...the problem is...there are some things ya' never learn!So I'm gonna' chalk yesterday's "close but no cigar", partial "oops" up to, "The Devil made me do it" and continue to be guided by an empathetic angel suffering with a #5 Destiny - carrying a #5 Challenge, who when repeating mistakes, excuses herself with, "The Devil made me do it" - chastises herself with, "I never learn! - and feels compassion for me too.

A Numerologist's Analysis of Greed and Gullibility
Universally it's a #6 "home improvements, family concerns, maintaining relationships in focus" Universal Day - however, I'm in a #5 "think out of the box and be curious" Personal Day and the litter of octuplets - eight babes to a singular Mom (living with her Mom) who had six little darlings at home (one set of twins) makes me wonder how we're gonna' end up paying for her moments of pleasure.
Tis said that her Mom, Dad and the "single Mom" have been able to care for the six at home and eagerly await the arrival of the eight tiny boys and girls destined to share the three bedroom home on the cul de sac surrounded by accepting neighbors. No information as to how the fourteen kids will be distributed in the home. Fertility drugs are involved - this isn't an accident...

... I am skeptical...unless there is mental illness connected to the single Mom, I do not believe this was done without forethought. I imagine that by the time the newborns arrive, donations will have been accepted by the "just thrilled" Mom of everything the babies need...like a ten bedroom-eight bath, house, all the diapers they can use and a bus to help with marketing groceries.It's a good plan if you're thirty-ish, still live with your folks, have no husband or father for the kids and want a better future. The possibly forever naive or scheming Mom will be cared for - the public can be extremely naive and gullible when children are involved.

...an essay in the Wall Street Journal by a professor at the University of Connecticut, Stephen Greenspan (no relation to Alan), that mentions his latest book, "Annals of Gullibility" that caught my eye...as did articles on www.skeptic.com and in Skeptic magazine - 'cause I had just read (in the NY Times) that lawyers are concerned about clients anteing up hourly fees in this economy and are considering switching to flat fees.
Now, I had to be gullible to believe that. I read Stephen Greenspan's explanation of how he got caught in the Madoff Ponzi scheme just like other slightly naive, greed motivated, educated, sophisticated investors and liked his examples of how even smarties get zonked by "A Trojan Horse", WMD's in Iran, sexual seduction and medical fads.
It's in tough cash flow times like these that our accustomed "old millennium" extravagances make us salivate over a flat screen TV lacking the "new millennium" money to pay for it - and, so I suggest we check our "gullibility meter."
Too many people are taken in by the "no interest, pay this off in three years" sells offered by Best Buy and other electronics retailers as well as expensive furniture stores and automobile showrooms. The seduction comes just as you're checking out and it's a quick sell...no time to read fine print - if you miss one payment or are late by a day, you're on to 30% interest...
... how they calculate? Even if you pay the small amount billed each month that pays the loan off, if you default in any part of the contract, they charge interest from the day you bought the item. That's chutzpa! Worse bandits than the Wall Street monsters who are taking bonuses from government bailout monies and telling us that's how they get salaries on Wall Street!
Wall Street doesn't get it - they sell based in a client's gullibility and collect bonuses through greed. Desperate retailers and used car salespeople should make us wary. When money is involved even families may fight and be greedy. Evaluate your "naivety button" and your "gullibility meter" in these trying times. Beware or you too may fall prey to an, impossible to believe, "think out of the box", "offer you could not refuse."
